Callao has beautiful old wooden houses with long and elaborate balconies. You can visit the traditional Plaza Gálvez, Plaza Grau and the Matriz Church. Real Felipe Fortress, monumental building dating from 1747 and it was built to defend the city from pirates harassment as Drake, who sacked the port in the sixteenth century.
